Exciting Days Ahead

Hi Everyone!

We have so many new and exciting things in the works!  Some of the props used in the new Bonnie & Clyde movie on the History Channel tonight came from our booth at the Old Schoolhouse Antique Mall in Washington, Louisiana.

Add to this new excitement the new creations we are working on!  My mom use to love jewelry and her yard so it seems only fitting to call this new line of work "Jewels for Jane!"  We'll be posting pictures later this week.  

It may be cold outside in the Deep South, but we are working up a sweat so stay tuned!!

My Friends at the Schoolhouse

Well as you can tell, my own posts have been sporadic because of the fact that I do other projects for clients.  I am so excited today to be launching a NEW website/blog for my dear friend Mrs. Pearl.

Pearls From The Past is just one more of the AMAZING vendors that you will find at 

the Old Schoolhouse Antique Mall in Washington, Louisiana.  While our home will always be our "Curiosity Cottage" or booth at the Schoolhouse is really a life long dream of mine.  We have met such incredible people and made life-long friends through this business venture!!

So take a drive to Washington, LA and see why we love this little corner of the world so much!!

Time Flies

Hi everyone!

As I looked at how long it has been since I last wrote, I had to ask "where did the time go?"  Since I last wrote, my daughter graduated with her degree in nursing; she got married; we lost my brother-in-law; I had the shingles; and add to the mix taking things to our booth at the Old Schoolhouse Antique Mall in Washington; completing several projects for clients; in addition to managing several Facebook pages.  OH...that is where the time went!! :)

What was funny though is that yesterday a friend saw me on Facebook and sent me a message - "Get off here, you should be writing!!" :)  So very true!!  What the past several hectic months have taught me is that my heart is in writing.  For that reason I am getting my last bit of projects on my list completed so that I can focus on the very thing that I love, WRITING!!! Added into this mix, I have chosen to create things for the special people in our lives that have been there for us during the ups and downs of this past year. For the true character of people really shows when we are at the bottom of our mountains. Anyone can give us a "high-five" while we are at the top. We appreciate those who helped us move mountains and believed in us. For these very special people we will be forever grateful.

So on the bright summer Sunday we give thanks for the blessings and lessons we have learned during this season of our lives!! Let my return to writing begin!!

Creating in Chaos

Hi everyone!

In the midst of the week's chaos, I have found comfort in creating.  Last Sunday I made my first "Pocket Prayer Pillow".

This Sunday, I made another gift.  

As the world tries to makes sense of the senseless acts of the past week, let us always remember  - God can bring joy out of chaos.

Even while people mourn and try to make sense of it all, always know that in time the sun will rise again!

Red, White & Blue

Given the events of yesterday, changing our sites theme to red, white & blue just seemed fitting!  It is a time when we must hold on to our faith and count our blessings.

We are blessed in that our little cottage affords us the opportunity to spend time with our family and include them in all of our business endeavors.  In return, they can see the many blessings that our little business has brought into our lives.

Faith, Hope and Love - but the greatest of these is Love, and we have that abundantly here!!  Take time today to tell all of the special people in your life how much you love them today!!

We are just soooo excited that the Antique Fair & Yard Sale is here!!  Today will be a day of treasure hunting, visiting with friends and taking pictures, pictures, pictures!!

The weather here in Louisiana is absolutely PERFECT, which makes it the PERFECT day!!!
